Damage in criminal law and rising prices
At present, we are witnessing a debate over the possibility of increasing the damage threshold or benefit of a crime (see the article “Is 5,000 crowns not enough? Some MPs support raising the threshold for a crime”). It is one of the few economic areas in criminal law. That is why we should argue economically here.
In this article, I aim to explain to laymen (lawyers) that because of higher prices or higher wages, offenders are punished more severely for the same act.
